VAYOIL TEXTIL PARTICIPATES IN THE GOVERNORS' SUMMIT

The commercial director of Vayoil Textil, Ramón García, participated as an expert in the Housekeepers Summit held within the framework of HIP (Hospitality Innovation Planet) organized by ASEGO and AEDH (Spanish Association of Hotel Managers). A meeting that brought together a large group of attendees and which addressed various topics of special interest to hotel managers, including sustainability in hotels and the talent and training of the new generations. This training included several topics, one of the main ones was sustainability as a main criterion when developing the activity in the hotel sector, a topic that Ramón Esteve addressed to explain the company's experience in this field. It is important to point out that Vayoil Textil is currently a pioneer in Spain and Europe in dressing a hotel with 100% sustainable textiles, i.e. it can dress a bed, a bathroom, a restaurant or a spa with sustainable garments. In the words of Ramón García: "After the pandemic we find a great green wave that has begun to accelerate. The implementation of eco-friendly measures to benefit the environment and attract the demand of sustainable travelers will spread throughout the tourism sector. Sustainability has permeated the sector and has taken center stage, but we should not get carried away by marketing speeches, and we should bet on companies that have environmental respect in their DNA and have been working in this direction for years, as is the case of Vayoil Textil". The company explained how four years ago it launched a line of products called Ocean, which year after year has been increasing its range of textile products for hotels until it is now the only company capable of dressing a hotel in a sustainable way at a competitive price and maintaining the standards of quality and efficiency of the product that the sector needs. A respect for the environment that in the case of Vayoil Textil starts in the same supply chain since the company requires all its suppliers to have the OEKO-TEX certificate, a certificate that guarantees that these companies comply with the charter of workers' rights and respect for the environment throughout the product process from raw materials to the final product and that it does not contain any harmful substances for human contact. Vayoil has the GOTS certificate (organic cotton), which has been completed with the OCS certificate (organic cotton) and RCS (recycled materials) and accompany the Vayoil Textil product as a guarantee to its customers that the product they are acquiring is of the highest quality and has been subjected to a thorough control throughout its production process. The company, also detailed how it has reduced the use of plastics in its day-to-day business and is also working to reduce in its production centers and central services the consumption of energy, fuel, and improvements in the efficiency of machinery that have allowed it to go from a carbon footprint of 37% in 2017 to 6% in 2020. VAYOIL TEXTILE PRESENTS A BATHROBE THAT NEEDS LESS WATER TO WASH THAN A CONVENTIONAL ONE.

Within the environmental commitment and its R+D+I policy, the Valencian company of linen for hospitality and collectivities, Vayoil Textil, has presented a new bathrobe called Coral, which, due to its fiber composition, weaving and spinning, needs less water to be washed than any other conventional bathrobe. Currently, Vayoil Textil is a pioneer in Spain and Europe in dressing a hotel with 100% sustainable textiles, i.e. it can dress a bed, a bathroom, a restaurant or a spa with sustainable garments. This new product put on the market by the company under the name "Coral" is a bathrobe that given its fiber composition, weaving and spinning and finishing needs less water to be washed with the consequent energy savings, both water and electricity, as well as less use of detergent, with what is positive for reducing environmental pollution and for the user's skin. This is not a minor issue in the business sector in which the company operates, which is lingerie for the hotel and catering industry, especially in the high-end sector, where the bathrobe is a basic element in hotel rooms and in the services offered to the customer. We are talking about thousands of bathrobes a year in industrial laundries. The product is being very well accepted by the company's customers. Vayoil Textil has already reduced the use of plastics in its day-to-day operations and is also working to reduce energy consumption, fuel consumption and improvements in machinery efficiency in its production centers and central services, which has allowed it to go from a carbon footprint of 37% in 2017 to 6% in 2020. The company also uses cardboard boxes without metal packaging and 100% recyclable material in the distribution of its products. In the words of Arturo Hernandez, CEO of the company; "By protecting consumer confidence in choosing products made from recycled materials, the company hopes to contribute to the increased use of recycled materials by consumers and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfill or incineration. We are concerned about our planet today and, above all, its future, which is why the company is committed to bringing products with this philosophy (reduce, reuse, recycle, redesign, recover and replace) to the hospitality market.

VAYOIL TEXTILE REDUCES ITS CARBON FOOTPRINT BY 61%.

The Valencian company Vayoil Textil, manufacturer of textiles for hotels and other collectivities, presented its sustainability report 2020, which includes these data and all the company's initiatives in the field of social responsibility in the economic and environmental sphere. Currently, Vayoil Textil is a pioneer in Spain and Europe in dressing a hotel with 100% sustainable textiles, i.e. it can dress a bed, a bathroom, a restaurant or a spa with sustainable garments. The Valencian company Vayoil Textil, manufacturer of textiles for hotels, hospitals and other collectivities, presented its 2020 sustainability report. Under the premise of creating a responsible product, the company has been working for more than 10 years on all kinds of initiatives that paddle in this direction within the sustainable development goals drafted by the United Nations. The company, Vayoil which has already reduced the use of plastics in its day to day has also worked to reduce in its production centers and central services the consumption of energy, fuel, and improvements in the efficiency of machinery that have allowed it to go from a carbon footprint of 37% in 2017 to 6% in 2020. The company's high-end production capacity and manufacturing methods contribute to reducing the carbon footprint by producing unique products for high-end hospitality linens. This translates at Vayoil into, among other things, the use of materials that come from recycled plastic (case of garments with polyester fibers) or natural materials from organic farming. The environmental impact of the textile industry, as in many other sectors, is a pressing reality that must be addressed. Currently, less than 1% of the material used to produce clothing is recycled, large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions are generated and we are responsible for a high consumption of cubic meters of water. A major sticking point is the plastic microfibers released from clothes in the washing machine that are polluting the oceans. It is estimated that total clothing sales could triple by 2050. Given that the proportion of plastic-based fibers is expected to remain at 63%, this would mean a tripling of microplastics reaching the oceans. Four years ago, Vayoil launched its Ocean line, which year after year is increasing its offer of textile products for hotels until it is currently the only European company capable of dressing a hotel in a sustainable way at a competitive price and maintaining the quality standards and product efficiency required by the sector. These changes in the processes are also accompanied by changes in the raw materials used. Vayoil has the GOTS certificate (organic cotton), which has been completed with the OCS certificate (organic cotton) and RCS (recycled materials) and accompany the Vayoil Textil product as a guarantee to its customers that the product they are acquiring is of the highest quality and has been subjected to an exhaustive control throughout its production process. TIPS FOR PROPER CLEANING AND DISINFECTION OF HOTEL LINENS

The creation of articles to dress a hotel is complex, above all, because of the technical specifications we want them to meet in order to have a long service life, high comfort and to be profitable for our customers. The useful life of the garments is directly related to their laundering, both in number and in all parts of the laundering process. In addition, hotel linen is composed of garments whose fabrics are often in direct contact with the skin of hotel guests. Therefore, a good washing process will keep the garments soft, comfortable and disinfected in a way that will ensure the well-being and safety of the hotel user. We wanted to write some tips that will be useful to our customers in making decisions related to the washing process to demand the maximum hygiene, cleanliness and disinfection of the garments. In the case of bath and bed linen (towels, bathrobes, sheets and pillowcases), two pieces of advice stand out: Washing temperature: a satisfactory disinfection will be achieved at 60ºC and above. Both white 100% cotton garments and their polyester blends withstand this temperature and more. If they are of color, it would not be advisable to exceed 70ºC due to the solidity of some dyes. Application of chlorine (bleach): This oxidant performs a fundamental function in the disinfection of all organic elements (bacteria, fungi, viruses). The higher the temperature of the bath, the more intense its oxidizing action. But it will also oxidize the cellulose and thus produce a degradation of the cotton fibers. This is why the 60*C washing standards should not be extended to the time when chlorine is in the washing machine. The maximum recommended temperature for the application of chlorine should not exceed 40/42ºC, and the necessary rinses should be carried out so as not to leave residues on the garments, since in the drying process they would produce a great oxidizing action. In case of not respecting these recommendations a great sanitizing action would be produced but a premature degradation of the garments. In the case of garments that are not washed daily, such as pillow stuffing, comforters and mattress protectors, they can be treated individually by spraying a bactericidal product containing an absorbent that dissolves the outer layer of the virus, allowing the silver ions to act on the nucleus of the virus, destroying its structure and, therefore, its reproduction. Protection of garments during storage. To protect bedding accessories such as pillows, pillowcases and blankets that are stored in room closets as a courtesy, laminated polypropylene (TNT) "non woven" fabric bags are used.

Vayoil, a step forward in prevention

The Product Creation department, within Vayoil's R&D&I area, has been working since the first day of this pandemic to create articles that can offer guarantees of safety and protection to its customers. Since March, the company, concerned about the magnitude of this health crisis, adapted part of its production to the manufacture of these articles. During the first 4 weeks of this adaptation, the entire production of masks and waterproof aprons was donated to hospitals, clinics, city councils, local police and Civil Guard both in the Valencian Community and other parts of the country. Taking a step forward against this epidemic, this Valencian company has created a collection of articles that collaborate with the fulfillment of the protocols for a safe hotel reopening. This collection includes items for the room, such as several models of pillowcases and mattress protectors that allow easy disinfection against Covid-19 and other viruses and bacteria, and also protect pillows and mattresses. In addition, following another of the points indicated in the Ministry's guidelines, we manufacture covers for the blankets and pillows that the hotel makes available to guests and that are kept in the room closets. Vayoil also does not forget the protection of hotel employees and guests. They are the most important and for them, the company has created a small collection of different KITS that can include masks, hydroalcoholic gel and mask covers. In addition, if there is a case of an infected customer or employee, the company integrates in its catalog items that meet the necessary requirements to comply with the protocol established for these cases. Vayoil once again demonstrates its commitment to collaboration with both its customers and society.
Temporary refocusing of our production requirements
Vayoil puts on sale hygienic textile masks for employees and customers. Within the initiatives undertaken to collaborate in the prevention and protection measures being carried out by the sector, in Vayoil we have refocused part of our production towards products that are now more necessary than ever to protect workers and customers and, ultimately, to protect us all to achieve and provide for a return to normality as soon as possible. Therefore, we offer you hygienic textile face masks for adults and children manufactured following our production quality standards based on circular economy, that is, concern for the sustainability of the processes and materials used, care for the environment, recycling of the materials used (and recycled origin of the same) and durability understood as an extension of the useful life beyond the "use and throw away"; in short: reduce, reuse and recycle.
