The Valencian company has been distinguished with the Medal of Gratitude 2025, one of the highest awards granted by the City Council of Valencia.
This award has been granted to 63 organizations that provided immediate, generous and selfless collaboration in the tragic fire in the Campanar building on February 22, 2024.
This is the second occasion in the history of the city in which this medal is awarded, the first edition took place after the overflowing of the Turia River in 1957.
Now, 67 years later, l' Ajuntament de València organizes again this celebration, to give an honorable mention to 63 companies and institutions that did not hesitate to join efforts to help the neighbors affected by the fire in the Campanar neighborhood.
The support, commitment, integrity, generosity and social responsibility shown by organizations such as Vayoil Textil, the València and Consortium Firefighters, the Local Police, the UME, the Red Cross, Civil Protection, Mercadona, El Corte Inglés, IKEA, among others, had an enormous impact on the affected families and other areas of the country.
The value of solidarity and empathy
In the main auditorium of the Palau de la Música, more than 800 people, including businessmen and municipal authorities, gathered to understand and not forget the importance of maintaining unity and citizen collaboration in emergency situations.
María José Catalá, the mayoress of València, said: "This is a city of courageous people. This is a gesture for companies full of values. Valencia is a city of giants made of giants. We honor the commitment with these medals that may seem small in size, but are huge in meaning".
María José Esteve, a member of Vayoil Textil's management committee, received the medal on behalf of the entire company and team, who were also present to express their support and pride for this distinction.
Article 10 of the Regulation of Honors and Distinctions of the City Council of Valencia, states that this medal aims to "record public appreciation of the city to all authorities, agencies and public or private corporations and individuals who, on the occasion of public calamities suffered, have made efforts and sacrifices for the benefit of Valencia and its citizens that make them worthy of such recognition".
This decoration was designed by the Valencian jeweler, Vicente Gracia. The piece includes the heraldic shield of the city and the inscription "La ciutat vos ho agraeix" ("The city thanks you"). Now on the back of one of them is the name of Vayoil Textil, a Valencian company with more than 30 years of history in the service of excellence in the hotel textile sector.
