Vayoil is certified as a sustainable supplier by the United Nations Global Compact.

  • The certificate requires respect for human rights in the work environment, transparency in environmentally friendly actions and the implementation of anti-corruption measures.
  • Companies such as Coca-Cola, Siemens or Uniliver have this certification.

The United Nations Global Compact sustainable supplier certification is a recognition of companies that demonstrate their commitment to sustainability in their production and supply processes. Vayoil has achieved its certification in 2023.

Twenty-first century society demands an unwavering commitment from companies to sustainability in its broadest sense and punishes practices that fail to respect people and the environment. By incorporating the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact into their strategies, companies not only fulfill their basic sustainability responsibilities, but also lay the foundations for long-term success.

Goal Agenda 2030

Vayoil Textil has been working for more than 11 years on all kinds of social responsibility initiatives in the economic and environmental fields, which has allowed it to reduce its carbon footprint by 61% in the last seven years. Obtaining the sustainable supplier certificate is one more step in the company's strategy to comply with the 2030 Agenda.

"The importance of Vayoil in the supply chain has led us to focus our efforts on achieving certification as a sustainable supplier granted by the United Nations Global Compact," explains Arturo Hernández, Director of Vayoil Textil.

Companies that earn the United Nations Sustainable Supplier Certification are required to complete the Sustainable Supplier Training Program. The program focuses training on the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact and the SDGs. Through its principles, the UN Global Compact ensures that companies respect the human rights of their workers, promote environmentally friendly practices and establish control channels against corruption, extortion and bribery.

Sustainability as a strategic axis

Together with Vayoil, more than 2,000 SME suppliers from all over the world have joined the Sustainable Supplier Training Program this year. In addition to being trained in the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the SDGs, the participants have been trained in the national, European and international regulatory framework related to sustainability.

In Spain, companies such as Siro, Talgo, Ormazabal and Tragsa are sustainable suppliers accredited by the United Nations Global Compact. Internationally, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, Unilever, Nestlé, Adidas, Nike, Carrefour and Siemens also boast the maximum guarantee of good sustainability practices.
